Grade 4 Curriculum
This grade level focuses on Math with more complex aspects as compared to the previous year. Students are taught how to calculate factors and multiples of numbers, calculate as well as convert units of measurement, and to work with fractions. For Reading, students are taught a variety of new genres and are introduced to more complex and sophisticated vocabulary. Writing now forms a part of studentsâ€™ daily activities and students are taught different types of punctuations to create sentences.
Language Arts Grade 4
Students will receive vocabulary lessons, learn about grammar, practice reading different types of literature, and learn skills to become a good writer.Â Â To improve their reading skills
Students are taught how to link prior knowledge to what they are reading and how to determine if the information is a first or secondhand account. They will practice reading nonfiction and learn how to make predictions about what will happen next in a story. Through writing practice, students will improve their writing ability by learning to paraphrase, write essays, construct a story from idea to finished product and write a persuasive essay.

Mathematics Grade 4
Students will develop an understanding of multidigit multiplication and dividing to find multidigit dividends. In addition, students will expand their understanding of place values. They will learn how to apply the correct methods to estimate or mentally calculate products or dividends.
Students will learnÂ about fractions, howÂ to add and subtract fractions with the same denominator, and how to multiply fractions by whole numbers.Â They will understand that geometric figures can be analyzed and classified based on their properties. The students will also learn how to understand the properties of twodimensional objects.
